Glasgow airport has added two brand new direct routes – to Budapest in Hungary and to Lublin in Poland, both with Wizz Air.

The new Wizz Air service to Budapest from Glasgow Airport will start on 13th June 2015, with one way fares starting from £28.49. The airline will fly to the Hugarian capital twice weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays – perfect for a short break.

Budapest bestrides and sits  along the banks of the mighty River Danube, with sweeping panoramic views of the centuries old Royal Palace, the imposing Parliament buildings, the famous Chain Bridge and its built heritage of Gothic architecture drawing you to explore. At night, when everything is illuminated by a glow of twinkling amber lights, reflected in the water, this is a magical city.

Wizz Air will also operate a twice weekly service to the city of Lublin  in eastern Poland, starting on 16th September 2015 and operating on Wednesdays and Sundays.

Lublin was a recent candidate for ’2016 European Capital of Culture’. which meanas that it has a rich and lively menu of events and entertainments. Of medieval origin, Lublin’s location at the eastern borders of the Polish lands made it important to defence. The first fortification there may be of 8th century, provenance. Since the Polish admission to the EU, Lublin has become the Gate to the East’ – and is something of a cultural melting pot.
